Frequently Asked Questions
What is PlotPDFPro?
PlotPDFPro is a CAD-to-PDF conversion platform that turns technical drawings into scale-accurate PDF. It is designed for architects, engineers and professionals who work with technical drawings.
Can PlotPDFPro convert PLT files?
Yes. PLT conversion is available in the browser today: you upload the file and a vector PDF is produced with the page size, scale and line weights preserved.
Can PlotPDFPro convert DWG files?
DWG files are converted with the PlotPDFPro AutoCAD add-in, which uses AutoCAD's own plotting pipeline. DWG files cannot be uploaded in the browser.
Can PlotPDFPro convert DXF files?
DXF files are also converted through the AutoCAD add-in, in the same way as DWG. DXF files cannot be uploaded in the browser.
Are Revit (RVT) files supported?
Yes. Revit sheets can be converted to PDF/A, either joined into one long roll page or as the selected sheets on separate pages of one PDF/A file. Revit conversion requires sign-in. Your first Revit conversion is free; later Revit conversions use 1 purchased credit. Gift conversion credits cannot be used for Revit conversions.
Which product converts which format?
PlotPDFPro Web converts PLT and Revit (RVT) in the browser. The PlotPDFPro AutoCAD Add-in converts DWG and DXF inside AutoCAD.
Are AutoCAD plot settings preserved?
Because the AutoCAD add-in lets AutoCAD do the plotting, CTB and plot style tables, layout plotting, paper size, plot scale and the plotter configuration are applied by AutoCAD itself. This applies to the add-in only; AutoCAD does not run during browser conversion.
How are credits used?
Each successful conversion uses one credit. The credit is reserved when the conversion starts and is only spent when the PDF is ready; if the conversion fails, the reserved credit returns to your account. Downloads are free and use no credit.
How long are files retained?
The uploaded drawing and the PDF produced from it are retained for seven days. The period is counted separately for each file. When it ends the file is removed; the conversion record stays in your account.
What is PLT?
PLT is the drawing file a CAD program produces for a plotter. It describes where each line goes, how thick it is and where it sits on the sheet. It is not an image file: it describes the drawing itself. PlotPDFPro reads that description and produces the same drawing as a PDF.
Why is the PDF produced to scale?
A technical drawing is read by its dimensions. If the drawing is turned into an image, the scale drifts and measurements taken from the sheet come out wrong. PlotPDFPro processes the drawing as vectors and keeps the page size and scale, so the PDF stays identical to the drawing whether it is printed or measured on screen.
How is the retention period counted?
Each file has its own clock: two files you upload today and next week are each retained for seven days, independently of each other. When the period ends the file is removed; your conversion record — file name, date and result — stays on the Conversion History page. You can see your credit balance on the My Account page.
Can I download the PDF again?
Yes. As long as the file is within its retention period you can download it as often as you like; downloading again uses no credit and does not rerun the conversion. After the period ends the download link is removed and the reason is shown next to the record.
Can I sign in with my Google account?
Sign-in takes place on our identity provider's sign-in screen. The available methods are listed there. PlotPDFPro never sees or stores your password.
What is the maximum file size I can upload?
The maximum size for one drawing is 500 MB.
What happens if a conversion fails?
The reserved credit returns to your account and the reason is stated clearly. If the problem is not caused by the drawing, you can try again without uploading the same drawing again.
How much does it cost?
The packages and their prices are published on the Buy Credits page. Prices are in Turkish lira and include 20% VAT. Once the payment infrastructure is live, purchases can be made on the same page.
What are the invoice, refund and cancellation terms?
These terms are published: Distance Service Agreement, Preliminary Information Form and Cancellation and Refund Policy. In short: you have a right of withdrawal within 14 days of the contract being concluded, unused credits are refunded, and failed conversions use no credit.
